Used Fifth Wheel
A fifth wheel trailer is a special type of camper that is towed along behind a utility vehicle or truck. What makes a fifth wheel different from a travel trailer is that the fifth wheel attaches to the truck by the use of a special hitch that is mounted on the truck bed. Because of this many people prefer to tow fifth wheels instead of travel trailers because they are so much more stable when towing in a strong wind. Also as the turning point is closer to the truck cab they tend to have a tighter turning radius.
When purchasing a fifth wheel prices can vary considerably depending on the size and fit out standard of the fifth wheel so buying a used fifth wheel makes a lot of financial sense. If you shop around several dealers a luxurious secondhand fifth wheel can be purchased at a considerable cost savings while still being in a near new condition. If you spend the same money within your budget and purchase a used fifth wheel then you should end up with more features for your money. However make sure that you do your research before purchasing a used fifth wheel as varying makes and models can have their own particular issues that could lead to costly repairs or maintenance being required. Also make sure that you have it fully checked out just to make sure that there are no existing issues with wear and tear and if you purchase a good condition used fifth wheel you then should have a fifth wheel that you can enjoy for years to come.
Even if you purchase a used fifth wheel it's still a sizeable capital outlay. So consider getting an extended warranty or investigate what insurance options you have available. Also ensure that it has all of the features that you require. These days the slide out feature is really popular and you can buy a fifth wheel with 2 slides, 3 slides or even 4 slides. These slides nicely pack away for traveling. However when you're parked up they can be extended to give you much more kitchen, living and bedroom space. Combine this with the luxurious fittings used and you can have a fifth wheel that's palatial so that you're camping in real style. It can't really be considered camping anymore when you have full Internet access, satellite TV and radio, fully appointed kitchens and bathroom etc.
So as long as you do your research and pre purchase inspection properly then buying a used fifth wheel is a sensible buying decision. The fifth wheel will have already depreciated somewhat in value from new so a used fifth wheel will hold it's value better. So buy smart and you should end up with a great value fifth wheel that will provide you with years of reliable service.
