HPP3′s really don’t allow much customization of anything, really they’re about worthless and certainly aren’t worth the money. I know this is not answering your question, but take it from someone who knows just how “cookie cutter” these things are. Sell the HPP3 and look up a custom tuner, say like wait4me performance, nelson performance, or wester’s, give them a call and tell them what you would like your pcm programmed for, in your case towing, and send your pcm to them. There are literally hundreds of tuning tables in your pcm invovled in really gettin a vehicle “dialed in” and a handheld- ESPECIALLY ON A GM- is not going to cut it. The HHP3 is only good for adj. for tire height, changing shift points (and that’s hit or miss) and tuning for hp, if you can even call it that (it may up your timing 4 degrees- wow that’s like a 5-10 hp increase). For anyone, including the young lady above (I’ve seen that truck on cardomain), who wants the most performance out of their 99+ GM V8 truck (or car) get a custom tune… trust me you’ll be much, much happier and make a lot more power (and better fuel economy) than the HPP3 can ever acheive, and a custom tune from wait4me is WAY cheaper than the HPP3 to boot!
